Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart Kampala or Entebbe and drive west to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy scenic views of tea plantations, rolling hills, traditional villages, and beautiful countryside landscapes.

Arrive in the afternoon and check into your lodge. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the forest surroundings.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

After an early breakfast, transfer to Kibale Forest headquarters for a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee tracking experience.

Walk through the rainforest with experienced guides in search of habituated chimpanzees. Once found, spend time observing their behavior as they feed, play, communicate, and move through the forest canopy.

After lunch, enjoy a guided walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, famous for its birdlife, monkeys, and rich biodiversity.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, depart Kibale and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The journey passes through scenic crater lake regions and offers magnificent views of the Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch.

Later in the afternoon, head out for an evening game drive in the Kasenyi Plains where you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, and predators preparing for the night.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Wake up early for a morning game drive in search of lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of antelope species.

Return to the lodge for lunch before proceeding for the famous Kazinga Channel boat cruise. This wildlife-rich waterway is known for its large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and numerous bird species.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, drive through the southern Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Enjoy a game drive while searching for the famous tree climbing lions that inhabit the area. Continue through the beautiful landscapes of southwestern Uganda before arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Check into your lodge and relax before the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing.

Accompanied by experienced guides and rangers, enter the rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take between one and six hours depending on the gorillas’ location.

Once located, spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch as they feed, groom, rest, and interact within their family groups.

Return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe or Kampala

After breakfast, check out and begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe.

Stop at the Equator for photographs, lunch, and souvenir shopping before continuing to your hotel or Entebbe International Airport.

Arrive in the evening, marking the end of your Uganda safari.
